“People will stare, make it worth their while”, Tom Ford

Can I let you into a little secret? I only started wearing dangle earrings when I started to make them! The idea of wearing earrings like these in the picture would give me the fear. Why I hear you ask… well because it would attract attention to my face and I didn’t want that.

In all my 39 years (2023) it has only been these recent years that I have really started to believe in the quote above. In face since Olivia was born I felt something change inside me, I don’t want Olivia to feel insecure about herself and how she looks. Naturally her dad and I think she’s beautiful, in-fact at this point in her life she would agree. However as we grow up and older we become more aware of others and their thoughts/opinions and words.

I’ve never really followed fashion, I had always been over weight from the age of 20 and so I wore what lfitted, made me feel comfortable and didn’t make me stand out too much. I was the jeans and T shirt kind of woman. I was recently featured in Woman magazine, front page and double spread non the less too, talking about my weight loss and the battles I had with just not liking my body. I had no confidence in myself and anything I did was completely out of the comfort zone. I’ve always wanted a fulfilled life and so to do it or get it, I had to get out that comfort zone. Along side being the owner and creator at Ollie and Blue I am a weight watchers coach too. A job that brings me so much joy and so fulfilling and rewarding. It was through them that I lost my weight and with them and key coaching from the wonderful Megan that I started to truly believe in myself and start to really live by that quote.

People will always talk about other people and words can truly hurt. But when you believe in yourself that much that you don’t care about what others think… it’s amazing what you can achieve in life when you have no limiting beliefs and no limitations.

I’ve had customers in the past that have been terrified to buy the hoops or the dangle earrings but loved the designs so much that they wanted to try them. They have then gone on to message me and express how happy they are that they gave them ago and now love them and open to wearing more! It’s that right there that is the job satisfaction for me here. Seeing and hearing of customers loving the products and enjoying wearing them because they make them feel confident, and that is why I will always push myself that little bit more. Setting this website up was a massive out the comfort zone for me!
